Thank you for your interest in joining the Ocean City Yacht Club (OCYC). The membership portion of the OCYC website provides information about the types of membership, membership dues, and capital assessment fees*. OCYC is currently at full capacity as we have 400 voting members as of June 2022. This limit is designed to ensure a quality experience for all members.
Anyone interested in membership should join the waitlist by (1) completing the membership application on the website (see Membership tab on the OCYC website) and (2) providing a $250 non-refundable application fee by check or electronic payment, as available. Completion of the application and receipt of the $250 fee will secure a position on the waitlist. Positions on the waitlist change when a membership becomes available.
The following process is initiated when a membership becomes available:
1.When advised by the OCYC Membership Chair of an opening, the applicant must supply two sponsorship letters and agree on an interview date within 30 days of being contacted. The two letters must be from current members in good standing who are not part of the same membership (e.g. a person and their spouse cannot supply separate letters). Applicants should consider providing the sponsor letters at the time an application is made.
2.If the interview is not scheduled and sponsorship letters are not supplied within 30 days, the membership application will be dropped from the waitlist.
3.If accepted for membership, the $250 application fee will be applied toward your capital assessment fee. (If an applicant chooses to withdraw their application, or does not accept the offer of membership, the $250 fee is non-refundable.)
4.While on the waitlist, please keep the Membership Chair informed of any changes that occur in your contact information.
